Our sovereignty-first audience expects signed, verifiable releases. Every image ships with a SHA256 checksum and a GPG signature. Here's how to check both.

Download the checksum manifest
Fetch /releases/SHA256SUMS alongside the ISO. This file lists the expected SHA256 hash for every image in the release.

Run the checksum verification
Linux and macOS each ship a different checksum utility:

sha256sum --check SHA256SUMS
# macOS
shasum -a 256 --check SHA256SUMS
```
The output should show novexos-appliance-x86_64.iso: OK. Any FAILED line means the file was corrupted or tampered with — delete and re-download.

Verify the GPG signature (optional, recommended)
Download novex-release.asc from our releases directory, then import the key and verify the signature file:
